DESCRIPTION:The Sun Peaks Recreational Trail Association (SPRTA) would like to formally invite all of our members and anyone interested in mountain biking in Sun Peaks to our 2019 Annual General Meeting on Saturday\, November 2\, 2019. The AGM will be held in the meeting room of the Hearthstone Lodge at 2:00pm. \nThe AGM will include reports from the Board of Directors on the activities of SPRTA in 2019 and plans for the future\, the election of the 2020 board\, and a vote to adopt new bylaws for the organisation. \nThe minutes for the 2018 AGM are available for review here. \nBoard Nominations\nWe are now accepting nominations for those interested in serving on the 2020 SPRTA Board of Directors. An overview of our board positions can be found here. \nIf you are interested in nominating yourself or someone else for a position on the SPRTA board please send us an email at info@SunPeaksTrails.com for more information. All nominees and nominators must be current SPRTA members in good standing. The deadline to submit a nomination is 6:00pm on Tuesday\, October 30\, 2019. \nSPRTA Bylaws\nNow that a membership base is in place for the organisation we will be voting to officially ratify our new set of bylaws during the AGM. It doesn’t matter if you’re a DH ripper\, an XC fan\, a Valley Trail cruiser\, or even a roadie – women of all ages who ride any type of bike are welcome! \nWe’ll hook you up with a complimentary burger and beer* to get things rolling so you can join in\, mingle\, and discover the awesome bike community here in Sun Peaks. \nRepresentatives from the Sun Peaks Sports School will be there to share information about the Shred Hard Ladies Bike Camp\, plus the party will serve as the kick-off to the resort’s new Women’s Bike Night program. \nSPRTA will also be there to tell you more about our work on the cross country trail network around Sun Peaks and plans for the future\, as well as selling memberships so you can show your support. \nCome check it out and meet some of the rad local ladies that make our community so great! \n*Must show 2 pieces of ID and be 19 years of age or older to pick up your complimentary beer at Masa’s Bar + Grill. DESCRIPTION:SPRTA is hosting a mountain bike trail building clinic on Saturday\, May 11. The clinic will be taught by local Kamloops trail building legend Darryl Ketter and is a fantastic opportunity to learn the fundamentals of trail design/construction. \nThe clinic is free\, but is available to SPRTA members only so you will need to purchase a membership in order to take part.
